Last week, I mentioned that I’d been offered a job at my local fire department! It was a great opportunity for me, but ultimately not the right place for my family. So, reluctantly, I turned the offer down. And that kinda bummed me out, but I’m happy with my current job and all the family time it gives me!

So that door closed, and then this morning…my garage door wouldn’t open.

Quite a pain the neck that was as I wondered how we’d get our daughter to school and if I could get someone to pick me up for work. Fortunately, I was able to eventually up the power on the door motor and get it up just high enough for my wife’s car and mine to get out. So it could have been a lot worse, and in keeping with Stoic discipline I’m thankful that a faulty garage door is the worst of my problems right now.

In writing news, my book cover is done! My friend is finishing up the artwork today and tomorrow and he’ll send it over to me, at which point I can do a big reveal! I’m super excited to see the final product and to share it all with you! Expect the book itself Her Name Was Abby to be available for pre-order later this week, so keep an eye out!
